In early 2019, we will be transforming all of our Rays stores to Macpac. We’re combining the best bits of each brand to bring you even more choice for all your adventure needs, under one roof. With the changes you can expect to experience the complete Macpac range of clothing and gear, plus we will continue to range the best camping and hiking gear, all of your paddling needs and also travel solutions from world class brands.

With the transformation of all Rays stores to Macpac in the coming period, we will also be transforming the Rays Rewards Membership program into the MACPAC CLUB.

The Macpac Club includes;

  • 20% off the original retail price of Macpac branded products
  • Warranty database, meaning there is no need to keep your receipts
  • 10% off the original retail price of footwear
  • Special offers and exclusive member-only deals throughout the year
  • First notice of sales and new gear releases

We’re super excited with this change and hope that you are too.
Happy Adventuring!
The Rays Team

Is Rays changing to become Macpac?
  • Yes, with the acquisition of the Macpac network of stores in April 2018 by Super Retail Group, we will be converting our Rays stores nationally into Macpac stores. The stores we change over will be known as Macpac Adventure Hubs.
  • This will happen progressively across the start of 2019.
  • We will communicate with our Members (via email and in-store) on when your local store will convert across.

What should we expect once the store changes over?

  • We’re combining the best bits of each brand to bring you even more choice for all your adventure needs, under the one roof.

What to expect in the converting stores;

  • The complete Macpac range
  • The best range of camping, hiking and paddle gear continuing through
  • Travel solutions from world class brands
  • Same great team of experts

What’s included in the “Complete Macpac Range”

These products and a selection of key products you know and love from Rays, ensure you are covered for all types of adventures, under the one roof including;

  • Hiking
  • Mountaineering

We will be the go-to source for expert outdoor adventure products and knowledge you can trust.

I’ve seen Macpac Stores in shopping centres – are these the same stores?

  • Yes, Macpac already has over 25 stores located in key shopping centres and malls around the country (and also over 30 stores in New Zealand) that you will also be able to shop in to get the very best outdoor adventure gear.
  • The stores located in shopping centres won’t have the full range of camping, hiking, paddling and travel gear you will see in the Macpac Adventure Hub stores (ie the Rays stores that will convert to Macpac) but will offer key items and of course the full Macpac clothing range.

How do I redeem my Rays gift cards if Rays is changing to Macpac?

  • Customers can continue to redeem their Rays gift cards at any of our stores and online. Once we change over, we will also provide access to use the gift cards at any Macpac store once the transition has been completed.

How do I redeem my Rays Rewards Credit if Rays is changing to Macpac?

  • Customers will be able to use any credits earnt up until February 3, 2019 at any Rays store or online until the transition. Once the transition is completed, any unused Rays Rewards credit will be available for use at any Macpac store for the duration of their validity. We will send you an email notice on how to claim outstanding credit and expiration date of the credits once this change over occurs.

Will I still earn CREDITS in the Macpac Club?

  • Instead of running a credit offering like the current Rays Rewards membership program, we will move to offering a discount at the time of purchase of 20% off for any Macpac branded products, and 10% off any Footwear purchases. You will no longer earn credits for purchases once the transition to the Macpac Club is actioned.
